Software Engineer III, Display Safety, Android

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in Kotlin and Java programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience with Android application development.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 2 years of experience with camera, video and audio systems and technologies.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience working with Android UX (Views or Jetpack Compose).
• Experience with Automotive Software Stacks.
• Experience working with operating systems such as Linux.
• Experience developing Android OS framework components and building APIs.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of engineers focused on developing novel Android system software and related technologies for Autos.
• Learn and develop expertise in both automotive and Android technologies, as they relate to Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV), connected cars, service-oriented architectures, and more.
• Develop software in Rust, Java, C++, and other languages as needed to add features to the Android system software.
• Work with the Android Automotive OS and Android Mobile teams to extend and improve the platform for Auto users and applications.
• Work with third party vendors partners and suppliers as needed to integrate Android in broader software and hardware solutions, in the cloud, on reference hardware and in the vehicle as applicable.
