Junior Backend Developer (Go) (€26K - €40K)

One of the companies we collaborate with at Joppy, a TOP cybersecurity startup, is looking for a Junior Backend Developer (Go) to join the team.

Work modality: HYBRID in Barcelona.

We are looking for a Junior Go Backend Developer with, at leats, 1 year of experience in backend development. As part of our team, you’ll contribute to building and improving our cybersecurity platform. You’ll work on developing new features, writing clean and secure code, and learning best practices from senior teammates. This role involves both remote work and regular in-person collaboration in our offices in Madrid or Barcelona.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, and maintain Go-based backend applications.

• Collaborate with the team to implement new features and improvements.

• Follow best practices for code quality, security, and performance.

• Participate in code reviews and learn from senior developers.

• Gain exposure to different programming languages and technologies depending on project needs.

What We’re Looking for in a Developer

• Some experience (1–2 years) working with Go in production or personal projects.

• Basic knowledge of microservices, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).

• Understanding of RESTful APIs, Regular Expressions, and testing methodologies.

• Interest in learning cybersecurity best practices.

• Curiosity about AI tools like Copilot or Cursor to boost productivity.

Nice-to-Haves

• Exposure to other languages like Python, Rust, or JavaScript.

• Interest in cybersecurity tools and frameworks.

• Familiarity with DevOps concepts, CI/CD pipelines, or infrastructure as code.

Soft skills

• Good level of English; Spanish will also be valued.

• Ability to work well with peers and ask questions when needed.

• Eagerness to learn, grow, and take initiative.
