What project we have for you

As a part of the Design Systems team at the client (R&D department of the biggest reinsurance company in the world), you will be involved in creating the design system that the UX Team, Engineers, and Product Management use when creating our digital products. Using your full range of interaction, visual, and prototyping skills, you will own creating a consistent and predictable look & feel across all products. You will be part of a team that ensures design quality across all facets of contemporary UI design (UI, micro interactions, micro motions, smart typography, multicultural design & testing, etc.)

What you will do

• Oversee the design direction and execution for multiple projects.
• Align team goals with business strategies and objectives.
• Advocate for the needs and goals of users, incorporating human-centered ideas into design solutions
• Drive high-level design decisions and ensure consistency across projects.
• Advocate for innovation and best practices within the design team.
• Effectively communicate complex ideas through sketches, digital prototypes, and in-person presentations to stakeholders and project teams.
• Present design strategies and solutions to senior stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other stakeholders, to deliver exceptional design solutions.
• Ensure inclusive and accessible experiences for users of diverse abilities, proactively adhering to relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
• Mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering growth and collaboration.
• Cultivate a supportive team environment, actively engaging in the growth and development of team members, tracking performance, and providing necessary support.
• Share insights and expertise in knowledge-sharing sessions, conferences, and industry events to contribute to the design community’s advancement.
• Contribute to agile development processes, participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives

What you need for this

• In-depth understanding of the product design domain, including best practices and emerging trends.
• A minimum of 8 years of commercial experience in design, including at least 2 years in a team leadership role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong strategic thinking and decision-making abilities.
• Strong leadership skills with a focus on developing people, providing feedback, and motivation.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset, fostering teamwork with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficiency in generative and evaluative research methods to inform design decisions.
• A strong portfolio showcasing your design process, rationale, and impactful results.
• Solid time management and prioritization skills for handling schedules in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
• A human-centered design approach involving rapid testing and iteration of solutions.
• Expertise in user research, accessibility, and design thinking.
• Proficient in setting objectives and effective planning.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and criticism.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in advanced design tools and prototyping methods.
• English proficiency at a B2+ level or higher.

Will be a plus

• Actively engage in presale and upsale activities, including creating proposals and delivering persuasive presentations.
• Experience mentoring multi-disciplinary teams.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, with experience in coaching and developing teams.
• Certifications in strategic design or business.
