Java Software Engineer

Job Title: Java Engineer (Backend)

Salary: £75,000 - £85,000 + 30% of your base salary in equity that vests

Location: Central London (Hybrid, onsite 3 days per week)

Wedo is partnering with a high-growth, double-unicorn payment tech company that is preparing for an IPO. This B2C company serves over 4 million customers, recently secured an additional £125 million in funding, and is following a growth trajectory similar to Monzo's at this stage.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate coding enthusiast who values software quality and enjoys building robust solutions. As a Backend Engineer, you’ll work on three core microservices that support the Storefront and Merchant B2B platform. If you thrive on innovation, love building solutions from the ground up, and enjoy solving complex problems that impact millions of people, this role could be a perfect fit.

Team Composition:

• 3 React Frontend Developers
• 2 Backend Engineers
• 1 QA Engineer
• 1 Product Manager
• 1 Engineering Manager

Technical Skills Required:

• Experience building secure, well-tested, and high-performance integrations and APIs using Java and Spring.
• Proven responsibility for system quality, monitoring, and unit/integration testing.
• Proficiency with cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and ideally Terraform.
• Degree in a related field or a strong passion for software development from an early age.
