Contract – Java Developer

• Pay: £700 - £800 p/d via Umbrella Engagement
• Key Technologies: Java & Kafka
• Desirable Tech: React, Kubernetes, AWS or GCP
• Term: 6 Months with likelihood of extensions
• Arrangement: Predominantly Remote - 2x Month in Central London
• Desirable Experience: Banking or FinTech

Day-to-day

As a Backend Engineer, you'll be a key member of one of our core mission teams, developing critical banking technology.

• Deliver high-quality software solutions as part of a mission-driven team.
• Support and mentor junior engineers while serving as a subject matter expert.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code that is thoroughly tested.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical decisions with customer needs and business goals.
• Promote best practices and innovation within the backend engineering team.
• Work closely with your team to troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges.

What Makes You a Great Fit

• Strong experience with Java software development.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot or Micronaut frameworks.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker.
• Solid understanding of AWS (deployment and configuration).
• Experience with message-driven architectures, Kafka, or event sourcing.
