Leveraging open banking, they’ve built a seamless payments network operating in 20+ countries across Europe, with top-tier clients such as Mastercard, HSBC, and Square. With €50 million in Series A funding secured in June 2022, they’re continuing to grow and they are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to lead their talented team.

As a Senior Java Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and evolving my client’s platform. They seek a visionary professional who thrives on modernising architecture with cutting-edge innovations while maintaining the reliability and stability of their current systems.

In this role, you'll take charge of crafting an integrated API that seamlessly supports a broad range of features. As a key member of my client’s Platform Engineering team, you'll design, build, and scale the platform, all while delving into the intricacies of A2A payments - a field where you’ll have ample opportunity to expand your expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and build cutting-edge payment solutions using Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, while staying hands-on with development.
• Own the full development lifecycle, driving scalability, security, and performance for complex, real-time financial systems.
• Collaborate with product teams to transform business needs into innovative technical solutions that shape the future of payments.
• Work closely with highly experienced engineers and FinTech giants to continuously improve their platform and develop new, customer-centric features.
• Ensure systems remain reliable, scalable, and secure while driving best practices in architecture and development.
