Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Job Title: AI Engineer (Azure)

Rate: Up to 35 Euros/hour

Location: Remote

Contract Length: 12-24 months

A European consultancy are seeking an Databricks focused AI Engineer to join the team on a long term 12-24 month contract.

This role will involve working on their GenAI program as part of a company merger between IT departments and include both voice and chatbot development.

Databricks expertise is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deploy machine learning and AI solutions within cloud environments, ensuring reliable operation in live production settings.
• Design and implement scalable AI systems tailored to business needs.
• Work collaboratively with diverse, cross-regional teams to drive successful delivery of AI-focused initiatives.
• Lead efforts to automate deployment workflows and infrastructure provisioning using tools like Python scripts, Terraform, and Azure DevOps pipelines.
• Monitor and maintain core data platform components, including data cataloguing, lakehouse management, and model lifecycle tracking.

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Deep understanding of machine learning concepts with a focus on generative AI techniques.
• Advanced knowledge of Azure Databricks, including data governance frameworks, Delta Lake architecture, ML lifecycle management with MLflow, and orchestration using Databricks Workflows.
• Practical experience automating cloud infrastructure and application deployment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Azure cloud services, especially Databricks environments.
• Proven track record of successfully implementing machine learning projects in production.
• Experience guiding and mentoring development teams to enhance skills and ensure project quality.
