Lead Platform Developer (PHP)

Challenging role

BetGames is looking for a Senior or Lead Backend Developer with a strong platform-oriented mindset and proven experience in developing scalable, high-availability gaming platforms. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives in technical leadership, owns architectural decisions, and understands the complexity of real-money gaming environments.

Working with architects, you’ll be a key driver in designing and evolving our backend architecture, guiding development standards, and mentoring others - ensuring robust integrations with third-party systems and seamless player experiences.

We expect you have

• 5+ years of experience in backend development, with at least 2+ years in a lead or senior capacity

• Proven technical leadership and mentorship of development teams

• Demonstrated experience building or maintaining gaming/iGaming platforms (real money)

• Hands-on experience with API development (RESTful, JSON-RPC, etc.) and third-party integrations

• Expertise in PHP (Symfony, Laravel, or similar MVC frameworks)

• Strong knowledge of MySQL, including performance tuning and optimization

• Track record of working with iterative, highly practical approach with strong technical ownership

• High communication skills in spoken and written English

• Experience with Redis

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
