Your mission
As a research assistant, you will be a central part of an innovative research project investigating the effects of rapamycin treatment on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers in Alzheimer mouse models. You will work under the supervision of Pontus Plaven Sigray in Andrea Varrone's research group, in close collaboration with Associate Professor Per Nilsson's group, who will provide training and expertise in mouse experiments.

Your mission
As a research assistant, you will be a central part of an innovative research project investigating the effects of rapamycin treatment on cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) biomarkers in Alzheimer mouse models. You will work under the supervision of Pontus Plaven Sigray in Andrea Varrone's research group, in close collaboration with Associate Professor Per Nilsson's group, who will provide training and expertise in mouse experiments.
Your main duties include:
- Conduct mouse studies with AppNL-G-F/NL-G-F mice and wild-type controls
- Perform CSF sampling from mice (training will be provided)
- Administer treatment through specialized diet or injections
- Perform post-mortem brain analysis and immunohistochemistry
- Analyze biomarkers related to Alzheimer's disease and autophagy
- Document and analyze experimental data
- Actively collaborate with the research group and contribute to scientific publications
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who shares our passion for translational neuroscience and wants to contribute to the development of new treatment strategies for neurodegenerative diseases.
Essential requirements:
- Master's degree in biomedicine, molecular biology, neuroscience, or related field
- Documented experience working with laboratory mice and animal handling
- Good knowledge of spoken and written English
- Strong interest in neuroscience and translational research
- Precision, independence, and good collaborative skills
- Knowledge in immunohistochemistry and immunocytochemistry (ICC)
- Experience with Western blot analysis and RNA isolation
- Experience with real-time PCR
- Knowledge of fluorescence microscopy and cryosectioning
- Experience with biomarker analysis
- Knowledge of neurodegenerative diseases, particularly Alzheimer's disease
- Experience with animal tissue dissections
- Basic knowledge in programming (R, Python)
- Laboratory Animal Science certification
