Focus 5 Recruitment are delighted to be working with a forward-thinking, award-winning digital agency as they look to recruit a Frontend Web Developer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative, detail-focused developer to play a key role in delivering high-quality, impactful websites and digital experiences for an impressive client base.

We’re looking for someone who thrives on turning great designs into pixel-perfect, functional, and engaging digital experiences. You’ll take ownership of projects from design handover to deployment, collaborating with designers, project managers, and clients, and ensuring delivery is seamless from start to finish.

Key responsibilities for the Frontend Web Developer:

• Take ownership of development from design handover through to deployment, ensuring quality, functionality and deadlines are met.
• Translate designs into responsive, high-performance websites and applications – primarily in WordPress, but also in HubSpot CMS and other platforms when required.
• Scope and plan projects effectively, breaking down designs into development requirements and estimating timescales.
• Write clean, maintainable, pixel-perfect code with a strong eye for detail.
• Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, and clients, spotting challenges early and suggesting smart solutions.
• Manage QA, bug fixing, content population, CMS training, and client handovers.
• Contribute ideas on improving workflows, exploring AI tools, and adopting new web technologies.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong skills in HTML, CSS (including Tailwind CSS) and proven ability to create fluid, responsive interfaces.
• Experience delivering WordPress websites that match design specifications and perform to high standards.
• Solid understanding of PHP and WordPress hooks/filters.
• Ability to self-manage tasks and priorities across multiple projects.
• Confident working with Figma for interpreting designs.
• Experience with Git/version control.
• Understanding of UX, accessibility, and usability best practices.
• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-haves:

• Agency experience.
• Experience with HubSpot CMS, React components, or WordPress block development.
• Knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Next.js, Astro, Nuxt).
• Familiarity with AI development tools (e.g. Cursor, Claude Code).
