POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Desktop Engineer to join our onsite team in Allschwil, Switzerland. In this role, you’ll provide critical IT infrastructure support across desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and endpoint management systems within a regulated and R&D-driven environment.

You will play a key role in maintaining system reliability, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and delivering exceptional user support – ensuring smooth daily operations and compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

✅ IT Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide hands-on support for desktops, laptops, and iOS devices
• Deliver first-level support for global applications and standard software
• Manage endpoint devices including OS installation, maintenance, and upgrades

✅ Project & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate with vendors, escorting them on-site as needed
• Assist in IT infrastructure-related projects from planning through execution
• Support local data center activities and infrastructure teams

✅ Compliance & Process Adherence

• Ensure systems meet GxP qualification standards
• Adhere to IT service management and information security policies
• Maintain disposal logs and manage timely asset disposals

✅ Asset & Inventory Management

• Manage IT asset lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory records
• Collaborate with global and local teams for consistent and aligned IT support

✅ Collaboration & Communication

• Engage with senior leadership, end-users, and global IT teams
• Partner with local IT business stakeholders to align on priorities
• Maintain transparency in quality and support activities at the site

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

🎓 Education:

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field (or equivalent experience)

🛠️ Experience:

• 7+ years in IT support and desktop infrastructure roles
• Solid expertise in:
• PC & software deployment
• Troubleshooting end-user environments
• Network configuration fundamentals
• Working in GMP or R&D-regulated environments
• ITSM (IT Service Management) practices
• Supporting multinational and virtual teams
