Data Scientist

Are you passionate about solving complex problems with data? We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist to join our client’s team in Singapore and drive impactful solutions in the financial services space.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy machine learning models using supervised and unsupervised learning techniques.
• Apply outlier and anomaly detection methods to improve risk monitoring and business decision-making.
• Work with large, complex datasets to deliver actionable insights for high-stakes projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business, technology, and compliance) to translate requirements into data-driven solutions.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of data science practices and methodologies within the team.

Requirements:

• 5–8 years of hands-on data science experience in a commercial or financial services setting.
• Strong expertise in machine learning (supervised, unsupervised, anomaly detection).
• Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and modern ML libraries (e.g., Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Analytical mindset with experience handling large and complex datasets.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills to explain models and insights clearly.

Nice to Have

• Experience in banking, financial crime, AML/KYC, or network link analytics.
• Knowledge of MAS/HKMA AML/CFT regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms and MLOps practices.

This is initial 3 months contract renewable.
