Senior Golang Developer

We are building an innovative video surveillance platform for the railway industry, designed to make train journeys safer, smarter, and more efficient.

The solution will help operators, fleet managers, and security teams monitor operations in real time, ensure compliance with safety standards, and react instantly to critical incidents. This is a strategic, high-impact project with strong visibility, offering the chance to work with modern technologies in a complex domain where performance, reliability, and security are key.

Responsibilities

Design and implement backend services in Golang for video recording, playback, and data management.
Integrate external systems and metadata sources (GPS, IBIS-IP, ITxPT).
Build and optimize APIs for fleet management and monitoring systems.
Work with video streaming and processing pipelines (FFmpeg/GStreamer) to ensure stable recording and playback.
Ensure system performance, security, and reliability across all components.
Contribute to database design and optimization (SQLite).
Support architectural improvements and ensure scalability and maintainability.
Participate in code reviews, testing, and agile development.
Collaborate with the team to deliver features from concept to production.

Requirements

5+ years of professional experience with Golang.
Hands-on experience with video processing technologies (FFmpeg, GStreamer, or similar).
Strong knowledge of network protocols (RTSP, ONVIF, HTTPS; WebRTC is a plus).
Experience with SQLite or other lightweight relational databases.
Proven skills in building REST APIs and integrating with external systems.
Solid understanding of security best practices (TLS/HTTPS, AES-256, authentication, firewall rules).
Strong debugging skills, especially in video transmission, recording stability, and networking.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and Git workflows (Azure DevOps preferred).
Ability to work in modular architectures and maintain high code quality.

Nice to Have

Experience with embedded systems or edge computing.
Knowledge of adaptive streaming (HLS/DASH) or WebRTC.
Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, or other observability tools.
Previous experience in transportation, safety-critical, or surveillance systems.
