Senior Java Developer – E-Trading Credit (Global Investment Bank)

• Location: 3 Days p/w Central London
• Rate: £550 - £650 p/d Inside IR35

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a high-performing eTrading technology team within the Fixed Income & Credit domain. You will play a key role in designing and developing low-latency trading solutions, with a focus on connectivity, RFQ protocols, and electronic trading enhancements.

What You’ll Do

• Develop new functionality for electronic trading platforms, including connectivity and portfolio protocols.
• Enhance auto-quoting and algorithmic pricing frameworks for credit trading.
• Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of scalable, low-latency trading application services.
• Participate in code reviews, ensuring best practices and robust solutions are consistently applied.
• Support QA and production environments, providing expertise to resolve issues quickly and effectively.

What We’re Looking For

Essential skills and experience:

• Multiple years of professional Java development experience, with strong server-side expertise.
• Deep knowledge of Java Concurrency, RX streams, collections API, caching frameworks (e.g., GridGain), and event-driven/messaging architectures.
• Hands-on experience with multi-cast messaging technologies (e.g., Solace, Tibco RV).
• Strong SQL skills with relational databases (SQL Server, Sybase, Oracle).
• Proven experience designing and implementing low-latency trading systems.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Nexus, or similar.
• Experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including shell scripting.
• Background in capital markets, front office trading systems, or risk technology.
