Back End Engineer – Fintech | Remote (UK/Europe)

We’re hiring a Back End Engineer for a growing fintech that’s redefining consumer finance. This is an opportunity to join a fast-moving environment where clean, scalable, and well-tested code is at the heart of everything.

What you’ll do

• Build scalable, high-performance RESTful APIs and services in Java (Spring, JPA, Kafka).
• Write clean, maintainable, test-driven code that stands up to scrutiny.
• Work with product owners and engineers across squads to deliver elegant technical solutions.
• Design and maintain microservices in a cloud-native environment (AWS).
• Take ownership of code quality, architecture decisions, and engineering best practices.

What we’re looking for

• Several years’ experience in back-end engineering (Java, Spring, JPA, Kafka).
• Strong grounding in design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code.
• Experience with relational databases, SQL, and distributed microservices.
• Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS preferred).
• A mindset for problem-solving, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
