Embedded Software Engineer

Purpose of the job:

In our R&D group, we develop hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people and hearing care professionals in the form of hearing instruments, accessories, web services, mobile applications and PC software.

In a team of electrical and software engineers, you will contribute to the design, development and the maintenance of firmware and software infrastructure. The development will be focused on test automation components and frameworks to support mass-manufacturing. From the engineering to mass-manufacturing phase, you will be engaged in contributing highly flexible and reliable software and firmware solutions.

Your tasks:

  • Maintain and enhance existing embedded software and testing infrastructure.
  • Collaborate in the specification and design of test devices and systems, both hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with the production environment.
  • Engage with stakeholders to clarify and refine project requirements.
  • Specify, develop, and test firmware and PC software solutions.
  • Provide support on investigating quality issues found during mass production, working directly with hardware and communication layers.
  • Contribute to manufacturing engineering initiatives and process improvement efforts.
  • Actively participate in Agile software development practices, including code reviews and interdisciplinary collaboration.


Your profile:

  • University degree (MSc/BSc) in electrical engineering, computer science or related technical field.
  • 4+ years of experience in the development, deployment and maintenance of real-time systems
  • Solid embedded C, C++ 17 knowledge; Python, Git, .NET and C# are a plus.
  • Close-to-metal experience (C, C++ 17)
  • Systematic approach to debugging, strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Service oriented, proactive and support peer developers
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team to achieve common goals.
  • Fluent English skills; German is a plus
