DevOps Engineer

We are looking for an ITIL Devops Engineer to support our logistics client.

Location: Remote - Occasional travel to Frankfurt

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: 3.5 months

Engagement Model: No freelancers (temporary employment only)

Language: German (native or C2 certificate).

Tasks & Responsibilities

The contractor will work independently and self-organised, providing the following services:

• Application & Lifecycle Management for assigned applications to ensure secure and stable operation in line with ITIL practices.
• Incident Management: Handle and resolve incidents/defects, ensuring rapid troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
• Change & Release Management: Support and implement IT application changes within established processes.
• Service Request Management: Process and assess service requests related to IT applications.
• Configuration Management: Maintain accurate and complete configuration data in relevant tools.
• Patch & Vulnerability Management: Apply security updates, remediate vulnerabilities, and safeguard IT infrastructure.
• Contract Management: Administer contracts linked to IT applications, ensuring SLA compliance.
• License Management: Monitor and manage software licences for compliance and cost efficiency.
• Auditing & Documentation: Maintain and provide necessary documentation for audits.
• Monitoring: Continuously monitor application stability and performance.
• Data Protection & Security: Ensure compliance with legal and internal data protection/security requirements.
• Consulting: Advise on optimisation and further development of IT applications.

Must-Have Requirements

• Practical experience with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and M365.
• ITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification with documented project references showing IT lifecycle management in practice.
• Experience in risk analysis & assessment (with proven references).
• Experience in vulnerability & patch management, data protection, and IT security.
• Experience in application & lifecycle management in large IT environments.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• Proven project references in infrastructure analysis.
• Experience in requirements analysis and policy implementation (with project references).
• IT project management experience in sub-projects.
• Projects in evaluating, implementing, or assessing risks of new technologies.
• Experience in further development, adaptation, and integration of IT applications into system landscapes.
