We are seeking a Senior Wintel Engineer with Chef to enhance automation for patching, vulnerability remediation, and compliance efforts—primarily focusing on legacy Windows infrastructure (Wintel)—while supporting the transition to modern DevOps practices.
Our client is a leading bank operating in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, engaged in a transformative IT modernization project. As part of their strategy, they are migrating from legacy on-premise infrastructure to AWS Cloud. This role presents an opportunity to contribute to a significant innovation effort and redefine the technological landscape of a regional financial institution.

Responsibilities
- Automate patching and security compliance processes for legacy systems using Chef Cookbooks
- Ensure CIS compliance and manage vulnerability remediation across legacy platforms
- Collaborate with teams to enable the migration from on-premise systems to AWS Cloud
- Enhance infrastructure automation and streamline CI/CD pipeline management
- Advance cloud platform implementation and strengthen operational capabilities
Requirements
- Proficiency in Chef automation, with demonstrated expertise in managing infrastructure workflows
- Background in Wintel systems, involved with Windows-based enterprise architecture
- Knowledge of Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure as code
- Competency in AWS Cloud solutions and services
- Understanding of CI/CD processes using tools like Jenkins and GitHub Actions
- Skills in Docker and Kubernetes to support containerized environments
- Familiarity with security benchmarks, with experience in applying CIS compliance frameworks
Nice to have
- Experience with IT integration projects involving large-scale transitions or mergers
- Understanding of the banking or financial services sector
