Senior Officer - Business Continuity Management
Job Purpose:
To support the development, maintenance, and testing of the Bank’s Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework in line with CBUAE regulations and international best practices, ensuring resilience of critical operations, regulatory compliance, and effective response to disruptions
Reports to: Manager BCM
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure BCM framework complies with CBUAE regulatory requirements, Central Bank circulars, and industry standards (ISO 22301).
- Assist units with assessment of potential business impacts, definition of critical, time sensitive, design, and develop business continuity plans;
- Coordinate development of business unit schedules for business continuity documentation;
- Provide expertise and support to management and business units as requested;
- Conduct independent reviews and validation of different areas in the business continuity program to ensure consistency across the organization;
- Assist and conduct bank wide Business continuity training workshops;
- Review business unit’s policies and procedures and recommend changes where necessary in relation to BCP;
- Perform Business Impact Analysis (BIA's) that include creating bank-specific criticality and risk impact assessment criteria, identifying relevant BIA functional respondents, develop and/or deploy user questionnaires, facilitate BIA working sessions, identify departmental operational dependencies consolidate departmental BIA results;
- Identify critical business functions, acceptable application downtimes, their recovery priorities and interdependencies.
- Coordinate with IT and Information Security on Disaster Recovery (DR) testing and alignment with BCM requirements
- Prepare emergency response plans, assist with plan implementation, and conduct testing and exercising BC/DR plans;
- Prepare and submit BCM regulatory returns/reports to the CBUAE as required.
- Assist in managing crisis communication processes and supporting Crisis Management Team (CMT) activities.
- Review, maintain and update business continuity plans;
- Coordinate with Admin/Facilities to ensure alignment of emergency response drills with BCM and crisis management requirements.
- Ensure BCM framework considers staff safety and welfare as part of emergency response and crisis management planning
Competency Profile:
- Education Level Required:
Completion of a Bachelor’s / master’s degree in finance/ Economic/ Business Management / Statistic from a college or university of recognized standing with major course work in risk management.
- Professional / Technical Qualifications / Diplomas: N/A
- Experience: Three to five years of Banking Experience (Operation / I.T Programmer)
