About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Android Software Developer to join our dynamic technology team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-availability Android applications that support our internal operations and external client needs. The ideal candidate will serve as a subject-matter expert in Android technologies, collaborating across various teams and with external partners to deliver robust and innovative solutions. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a deep understanding of mobile application development within the human capital management industry.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, engineering, or a related field. Candidates with equivalent education, training, or experience in object-oriented programming, mobile application development, or business intelligence tools will also be considered. A minimum of one year of native Android development experience is required, with proven expertise in building large-scale, high-availability applications. Familiarity with multiple programming languages, including Java and Kotlin, and experience with mobile development tools and frameworks are essential. Additionally, candidates should have a solid understanding of current and upcoming Android OS versions, along with proficiency in database management and web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Planning and developing a wide range of Android applications for new and existing high-availability systems, ensuring scalability and performance.
• Serving as a subject-matter expert on Android technologies, providing guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Collaborating with cross-functional development teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet business and technical requirements.
• Managing the entire software development lifecycle, including planning, design, development, testing, integration, and deployment of Android applications.
• Developing code for various modules such as Payroll, Talent Acquisition, Time Management, Human Resources, and Reports, ensuring adherence to industry standards for Human Capital Management (HCM).
• Customizing development outputs to meet client-specific needs, including EDI and other interfacing technologies.
• Refining and adjusting code based on testing feedback to ensure functionality, security, and performance.
• Partnering with developers, quality assurance, and application support teams to ensure seamless project execution and deployment.
• Engaging with external vendors and third-party entities to facilitate integration and collaboration on projects.
• Utilizing project management tools such as Jira to track project progress, manage issues, and document communications.
• Participating in team meetings, code reviews, and design discussions to foster continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
• Collaborating with non-technical stakeholders, including customer support and clients, to clarify requirements and gather feedback.
• Maintaining organized documentation of project metrics, statuses, and client/vendor communications, acting as a primary contact when needed.
  
  

Technologies Used

Our development environment heavily utilizes Kotlin and Java for Android applications, with expertise in Android activities, UI fragments, XML layouts, Retrofit2, HttpURLConnection, and network threading. Knowledge of Compose, Realm, MVVM architecture, and LiveData is advantageous. Additional tools and technologies include SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), ADO, XML, PowerBI, Couchbase, Docker, PHP, MySQL, C#, React, and Swift, among others.
