Senior Systems Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Senior Systems Engineer to join our team.

This role requires expertise in Linux programming and advanced Managed File Transfer (MFT) automation, with hands-on experience in CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway. You will play a key role in supporting our migration to a new MFT platform and ensuring seamless file transmission workflows.

Responsibilities

• Configure and deploy CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway to enable file transmission solutions
• Develop automation routines for MFT workflows using shell and Perl scripting
• Set up and manage Connect:Direct and file agent scripts to automate file transfers
• Collaborate with network, firewall, and system administrators to troubleshoot connectivity issues, including TCP/IP and FTP/SFTP protocols
• Work directly with business users to gather transmission requirements and design tailored solutions
• Provide 24x7 support for file transmission processes, including participation in on-call rotations and scheduled maintenance during nights and weekends
• Mentor team members to foster skill development and adherence to engineering best practices
• Take direction from project leads while also stepping into a lead capacity when required

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Minimum of 3+ years of professional experience in systems engineering or a related role
• Hands-on experience with CLEO Harmony and Sterling File Gateway in production environments
• Proficiency in Unix/Linux application support and scripting using Bash/Korn Shell and Perl
• Solid understanding and experience with file transmission protocols, including SFTP/SSH, FTPS/SSL, HTTPS, and PGP/GPG
• Expertise in TCP/IP setups, troubleshooting, and MFT workflow management
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for diagnosing complex issues
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects under tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and ability to create detailed documentation
• Fluent English skills in both written and spoken communication at a B2 level or higher

Nice to have

• Experience working with IBM Sterling Connect:Direct
• Programming knowledge in C and Java
• Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and GCS Bucket storage solutions
• Understanding of cloud architecture principles and best practices
