About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Architect with a strong background in Operational Technology (OT) to join our team in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. This role will involve designing and implementing robust cybersecurity architectures to protect critical industrial systems, ensuring resilience and compliance with regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architectural Design: Develop comprehensive cybersecurity architectures tailored to OT environments, ensuring the secure integration of IT and OT systems.
• Security Strategy Development: Create and implement security frameworks that align with industry standards (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO 27001) and best practices to safeguard critical infrastructure.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities in OT systems, propose mitigation strategies, and oversee the implementation of security solutions.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams, IT departments, and senior stakeholders to understand business needs and integrate cybersecurity measures effectively.
• Compliance and Regulatory Alignment: Ensure that all security practices align with relevant regulations, including NIS2 directive and GDPR where applicable.
• Incident Response Planning: Develop and support incident response protocols for OT environments, enabling quick identification and resolution of security breaches.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of security architectures, risk assessments, and best practice guides for internal use and compliance purposes.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a cybersecurity architect role, with at least 3 years focused on OT environments.
• Technical Expertise:
• Deep understanding of ICS/SCADA systems, PLC architectures, and OT-specific protocols (e.g., Modbus, DNP3, PROFINET).
• Strong knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks, particularly IEC 62443 and ISO 27001.
• Proficiency in network security, firewalls, IDS/IPS systems, and OT threat intelligence tools.
• Certifications (Preferred):
• GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional)
• CISM (Certified Information Security Manager)
• CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) with a focus on architecture
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects under tight deadlines.
