Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Centre Network Engineer to design, implement, and support robust, high-performance network infrastructure within our data centres. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, a deep understanding of data centre environments, and experience with managing complex, mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure in data centre environments (LAN/WAN, routing, switching, firewalls).
  • Monitor network performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Perform network maintenance, upgrades, and configuration changes.
  • Manage and support core network services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, IP address management).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, working with vendors and cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Implement network security measures to safeguard infrastructure.
  • Maintain documentation of network configurations, procedures, and diagrams.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Support automation and scripting efforts for network tasks and monitoring.
  • Assist with capacity planning and performance tuning of network systems.
  • Provide on-call support as part of a rotation schedule.

Requirements

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in network engineering, preferably in a data centre or large enterprise environment.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, etc.).
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Arista, or similar networking platforms.
  • Familiarity with data centre technologies: VXLAN, EVPN, leaf-spine architecture.
  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, load balancers, and VPN technologies.
  • Understanding of network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Zabbix).
  • Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
  • Experience with SDN, cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP), and automation tools (e.g., Ansible) is an advantage.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • CCNA / CCNP / CCIE
  • JNCIA / JNCIP / JNCIE
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking or similar cloud certification

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
