About the Role
The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for designing, managing, and optimizing high-performance IT infrastructure that underpins the firm’s trading operations. This includes physical equipment, networks, operating systems, and office-level software, as well as the tools required to monitor and maintain these systems.
In this role, you will ensure that all infrastructure components — from trading floor workstations to globally distributed server clusters — operate with maximum speed, precision, and reliability. The ideal candidate is structured, detail-oriented, and motivated to continuously improve infrastructure performance while enabling business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of the trading domain, technology stack, and infrastructure requirements of a high-performance trading environment.
- Install, configure, upgrade, and troubleshoot a wide range of IT systems, including trading servers, workstations, and supporting infrastructure.
- Manage operating systems (Linux and Windows), performance tuning, and custom tooling across both servers and workstations.
- Build strong relationships with internal users to understand business needs and deliver tailored technical solutions.
- Collaborate with external suppliers and service providers to manage infrastructure requirements.
- Enhance and automate monitoring, observability, and system management tools to maximize uptime and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in processes, system architecture, and operational practices.
Candidate Profile
- 3–5 years of experience managing bare-metal, on-premise, high-performance infrastructure in demanding environments.
- Expertise in several of the following areas:
- Windows and Linux (high-performance troubleshooting, tuning, and optimization)
- Networking (low-latency environments; Cisco CCNA or equivalent knowledge)
- Server and workstation hardware, OS-level management
- VoIP, Virtualization, Active Directory, LDAP, PostgreSQL, collaboration tools
- Monitoring, optimization, Git version control
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and diagnostic skills for latency-sensitive environments.
- Proficiency in automation and scripting (Bash, Python, PowerShell, Puppet, Ansible, IaaC).
- Data center experience, including equipment installation, patching, and remote facility supervision.
- Methodical, detail-oriented, and structured, combined with a proactive, hands-on mindset.
- Effective communicator and team player who thrives in fast-paced, agile environments.
- A critical thinker who values simplicity and prioritizes solutions that deliver measurable business impact.
