We are looking for an IT Risk & Control Project Manager who will be working closely with the Investment Bank Tech Risk management team in our customers’ Krakow or Wroclaw office.

It is a global team with presence in the US, Hong Kong, London and Krakow, responsible for technology risk management, overseeing risk remediation, and ensuring technology controls are designed and operating effectively. You'll be working closely with your counterparts – business risk managers, Technology Services, and 2nd and 3rd lines of defense.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to key stakeholders in managing their operational risk items and ensuring alignment with the organization's risk appetite
  • Assess and improve internal controls, including identifying opportunities to automate controls where feasible, while understanding how these controls are implemented and managed in cloud environments
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Operational Risk Framework, ensuring key risk processes are embedded and operationalized effectively
  • Analyze risk-related metrics to identify trends, anomalies, and significant exceptions, providing actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Prepare and deliver reports on technology risks, control deficiencies, and the status of remediation efforts for key stakeholders and governance forums
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, collaborating closely with 2nd and 3rd lines of defense to ensure alignment and compliance with risk policies and frameworks
  • Assist in managing both internal and external audits involving technology, providing the required insights, documentation, and follow-up support
  • Conduct risk and control assessments, including initiative-based or ad hoc assessments as required, as well as periodic recurring reviews
  • Promote and contribute to the development and maintenance of a strong and effective risk- and control-oriented culture across stakeholders and teams

 

Requirements

  • A university degree, ideally in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated project management experience with a track record of successfully delivering business outcomes
  • Prior experience in risk management, audit, or technology within the Financial Services industry, or a comparable environment
  • In-depth knowledge of technology risks and controls, as well as strong expertise in assessing and implementing effective risk remediation strategies
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to quickly understand and evaluate complex processes, identify procedural weaknesses or risks, and propose sustainable, practical solutions
  • Hands-on experience in data analysis, including validation techniques and presenting findings to varied audiences
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Professional-level fluency in English
  • A adaptable, flexible, and collaborative team player, comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Relevant certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CIA are a definite asset and highly preferred
