Senior Product Owner

  • Multiple Full-Time (35pw) Temporary Opportunities up to June 2027
  • Salary range $129,464 - $142,665 + super
  • Location flexible across Revenue NSW offices with hybrid working

We are seeking two experienced Senior Product Owners, each to lead separate streams of a high-impact modernisation program, driving end-to-end delivery of critical upgrades and platform enhancements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing complex technical initiatives and collaborating with cross-functional Agile teams to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions.

The roles will require hands-on product ownership across multiple streams, including AWS containerisation, version and database upgrades and deployments.[MM2] [MM3] You will work closely with architects, developers, QA engineers, and stakeholders to prioritise features, mitigate risks, and ensure successful delivery aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the product backlog for the modernisation program, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
  • Manage dependencies, risks, and technical challenges proactively.
  • Advocate for modern engineering practices, security standards, and performance optimisation.
  • Monitor KPIs and success metrics post-deployment to ensure business value is achieved.

Stream One - Fines Management squad

In addition to the above responsibilities, in this stream the successful candidate will partner with technical leads to design and execute upgrades and deployments, including:

  • Migrate existing batches to AWS Cloud native systems
  • AWS containerisation for scalable application hosting
  • Upgrade Oracle databases to Amazon RDS
  • Migrate Oracle database to AWS RDS with minimal downtime and data integrity assurance
  • Ensure the Fines Product is increasingly and effectively monitored and protected by expanding use of CloudWatch.

Stream Two - Overdue Fines squad

In addition to the above responsibilities, in this stream the successful candidate will partner with technical leads to design and execute upgrades and deployments, including:

  • AWS containerisation for scalable application hosting.
  • PHP upgrade from 7.3 to 8.5, ensuring compatibility and performance improvements.
  • PostgreSQL database upgrades with minimal downtime and data integrity assurance.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Owner, preferably in large-scale digital transformation or modernisation programs.
  • Proven track record delivering complex upgrades and platform migrations.
  • Strong technical understanding of the relevant technologies and activities described above for the 2 streams
  • Hands-on experience with Agile delivery tools (Jira, Confluence, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance technical constraints and business priorities.

Desirable

  • Experience in cloud security best practices and DevOps pipelines.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD automation tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines).
  • Understanding of system performance tuning and monitoring tools.
