Senior Quality Engineer – API Focus

Location: Galway
Rate: €375 -  €400 per day 
Type: 12 Month contract

The Role We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer with strong expertise in API testing and automation. In this role, you will be deeply involved in every stage of product development, ensuring quality is built into the solution from the ground up. You’ll develop fully automated tests for user stories within each sprint, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate closely with analysts, developers, business specialists, and vendors. This is a hands-on role where your work will directly impact the reliability and user experience of the product.


Skills & Expertise

• Strong background in Agile methodologies with experience delivering in sprints.
• Solid expertise in Java.
• Proven API testing experience (must-have).
• Hands-on with automation frameworks such as Karate and REST Assured.
• Experience with Cucumber/Gherkin for BDD-style testing.
• Familiarity with Maven and Git.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to analyze requirements, track defects, and report on test progress.
• Experience with Jenkins CI/CD (job creation & maintenance).
• Jira/Xray experience is a plus.
• Passionate, analytical, and motivated with the ability to solve complex technical challenges.
