Senior backend engineer

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer with strong expertise in Java and related backend frameworks. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing scalable APIs, working with data streaming technologies, and building robust backend solutions in cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performing backend services using Java (8+ years).
• Build and optimize REST APIs; GraphQL experience is a strong plus.
• Implement NoSQL data models (preferably Azure Cosmos DB).
• Work with Kafka or similar messaging/data streaming technologies (RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, etc.).
• Develop and maintain services using Spring Boot; knowledge of Spring Batch and Spring Cloud is a strong plus.
• Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms (OAuth 2.0, MSFT Entra ID).
• Work with Azure Cloud Services (App Services, API Management, Azure Monitor, etc.); broader Azure knowledge is sufficient.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality backend solutions.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to architectural discussions.

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java development.
• Strong expertise in REST API Design.
• Experience with GraphQL Schema Design (optional but a strong plus).
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Azure Cosmos DB preferred).
• Experience with Kafka or similar messaging/streaming platforms.
• Proficiency in Spring Boot; knowledge of Spring Batch and Spring Cloud is a strong plus.
• Hands-on experience with OAuth 2.0 and MSFT Entra ID.
• Familiarity with Azure Cloud Services (App Services, API Management, Azure Monitor, etc.).
• Exposure to AI skills/technologies is a plus.
