Software Engineer - Messaging

Job Description

Zendesk is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Agent Workspace Messaging Team in Singapore. You'll help build a next-generation messaging platform that empowers customers to deliver exceptional user experiences, working toward an omni-channel customer engagement product.

You will work with a diverse team of skilled engineers developing a highly-responsive web application. You'll learn about well-structured web frontend architecture and backend services while partnering with product and UX teams to improve workflows and develop new features.

What you'll do

• Contribute to the everyday development of Zendesk's product suite
• Improve system quality by identifying issues and developing standard operating procedures
• Enhance applications by identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing solutions
• Maintain and improve existing codebases and conduct peer code reviews
• Collaborate with colleagues to implement technical designs
• Investigate and adopt new technologies where relevant
• Create written knowledge transfer materials
  
  

What you bring

• Proven software engineering experience with capabilities in Java, Python, Ruby, or Go
• Working knowledge of JavaScript, Node.JS, and React
• Functional understanding of web technologies and frontend-backend interactions
• Good command of data structures and algorithms
• Passion for solving real-world problems with a customer-first mindset
• Personal projects, open-source contributions, or active learning initiatives are a plus
  
  

Hybrid: In this role, our hybrid experience is designed at the team level to give you a rich onsite experience packed with connection, collaboration, learning, and celebration - while also giving you flexibility to work remotely for part of the week. This role must attend our local office for part of the week. The specific in-office schedule is to be determined by the hiring manager.
