One of our Clients is seeking to engage Senior Project Officer at Canberra location.

Role: Senior Project Officer

Location of work: Canberra, ACT

Length of contract: 12 months + 24 months of extension

Security clearance: Australian Citizen

Overview:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented IT Project Officer to support the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects. The successful candidate will assist in coordinating project activities, monitoring timelines and budgets, preparing documentation, and ensuring effective communication among stakeholders. This role is essential in ensuring IT projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business objectives.

The key duties and responsibilities:

Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of IT projects.

• Support Project Managers in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

• Monitor project progress and prepare regular status reports.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met.

• Manage project documentation including schedules, risk logs, change logs, and meeting minutes. • Track project budgets, procurement, and resource allocation.

• Facilitate communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors.

• Identify and resolve issues or escalate as necessary to minimise project risks.

• Assist with user training, testing, and change management activities.

• Ensure compliance with IT governance, security policies, and data protection regulations.

Key Relationships:

• Business and ICT delivery teams.

• MDBA project sponsors and governance groups.

• External stakeholders (e.g. state partners).

• Change, communications, and BAU transition leads
