We are looking for a Lead Test Automation Engineer in JavaScript who will drive strategic quality initiatives, oversee test automation efforts, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions. As a key leader within the team, you will work across functional groups to influence best practices in test automation and quality assurance, ensuring scalable, impactful solutions for the live events industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership in designing and executing manual and automated testing strategies, ensuring feature reliability and scalability
- Architect robust test automation frameworks from the ground up and implement improvements to existing systems
- Define, plan, and oversee regression testing plans, release strategies, and risk assessments for all product features and deployments
- Evaluate, diagnose, and oversee the resolution of software bugs, including both internally and externally reported issues
- Foster collaboration with product, business, and engineering teams, aligning testing strategies with business and development goals
- Championship of quality assurance processes and methodologies, ensuring they meet and exceed Agile/Scrum delivery standards
- Lead cross-functional testing initiatives, act as a subject matter expert, and mentor both junior engineers and external partners/outsourced teams
- Own the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentation for manual and automated test plans and processes
- Identify and implement innovative tooling and practices to optimize test automation pipelines across multiple environments
- Establish metrics to monitor test effectiveness and report on software quality during project lifecycles
Requirements
- BA/BS Degree (4-year) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 5+ years of professional experience in test automation, leveraging JavaScript libraries like Playwright for high-quality test coverage
- At least 1 year of relevant leadership experience
- Demonstrated expertise in black, white, and grey box testing approaches, with an ability to identify gaps in existing testing coverage
- Extensive experience testing web applications, encompassing both front-end UX/UI functionality and back-end services/database interactions
- Expert-level proficiency in using ticketing tools such as Jira and working within Agile/Scrum development environments
- Thorough understanding of RESTful APIs and security protocols (e.g., JSON Web Token, OAuth2), including automated API testing scenarios
- Capability to query and validate insights using data warehouses and ensure front-end data aligns accurately with back-end systems
- Proven ability to lead testing strategies within multi-team environments and mentor junior engineers in adopting best testing practices
- In-depth experience using version control systems and CI/CD pipelines, including GitHub and related tooling for test automation integration
- Technical knowledge in identifying, implementing, and mitigating software vulnerabilities in partnership with security experts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (B2+ level)

- Deep familiarity with the live events industry or direct experience in areas such as music, ticketing, or marketing technologies
- Advanced knowledge of Playwright features for executing sophisticated end-to-end (E2E) testing across web and mobile platforms
- Expertise in usability testing techniques to refine user experiences in collaboration with design teams
- Advanced skills in implementing JSON-based validation methods for complex API testing workflows
- Proven flexibility and adaptability in highly dynamic Agile development environments that align with evolving technologies and product demands
