Java Full Stack Developer – IAM Team

Location: Brussels (Hybrid, 1x per week onsite)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Full Stack Developer to strengthen the IAM (Identity & Access Management) team. The team is responsible for building and maintaining applications and systems around authentication, authorization, and security such as Multi-Factor Authentication and OpenID Connect.

We work in a Scrum framework with 2-week sprints, weekly hybrid work in Brussels, and quarterly major releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Java applications within IAM context
• Design, implement, and review code in a microservices environment
• Contribute to secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions
• Perform code reviews, unit and integration testing, and API testing
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, testers, and other developers

Required Skills and Experience

Backend (Java and Ecosystem)

• Strong experience with Java, Spring (all modules), Hibernate/JPA, Maven
• Good knowledge of SQL, relational databases, ORM, database versioning tools
• Experience with SOLID principles, design patterns, OOP concepts (encapsulation, polymorphism, inheritance strategies in databases)
• Experience with unit testing (JUnit, Mockito, MockMvc)

Frontend and APIs

• Deep knowledge of JavaScript (latest ECMAScript standards)
• Understanding of front-end architecture best practices
• Experience with Web APIs and Web Services (SOAP, REST, JSON/XML, WSDL, XSD, WADL)
• API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger, REST-assured, SoapUI
• Contract testing (e.g., Pact)

Collaboration and Tools

• Git and distributed VCS
• Agile and Scrum ways of working
• Experience with static code reviews, merge requests, and giving feedback

Nice to Have

• Experience with IAM solutions (IBM ISIM / ISAM)
• Experience in microservices deployment in production
