The Electromechanical Embedded Software Team operates within KONE Machinery and Drive Organization in KONE R&D.

Now we are hiring for (Principal/Lead) Software Developer, Embedded Applications position in Hyvinkää, Finland.

Join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team that is pushing the boundaries of innovation and sustainability in elevator technology. Help us design the drivetrains behind tomorrow’s sustainable People Flow.

What is our challenge for you?

In this role, you'll develop software for motor, motion, and application control in our electric motor inverter products. You’ll work closely with hardware engineers, control system designers, and other software teams to deliver robust, high-performance embedded systems.

To be successful in this role we expect you to have

  • 5+ years of experience in developing highly integrated, time-critical embedded applications
  • Proficiency in modern C programming and a focus on clean, maintainable code
  • Strong software design and debugging skills
  • Ability to simplify complex systems without sacrificing performance
  • Hands-on experience with measuring tools like oscilloscopes and signal analyzers
  • Solid understanding of electronics, power electronics, and circuit schematics
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
