Supplier Quality Management (SQM) is a global team, part of the KONE Safety & Quality function in KSC, that manages the supplier selection, qualification, development, and quality processes to achieve the expected level of quality and services.
We are seeking a Procurement Project Manager to join the SQM team in Hyvinkää, Finland or alternatively Pero, Italy.
In this role, you will focus on managing the projects which are highly influential on cost and manufacturing process on supplier sides. You need to develop a project plan and guide suppliers and KONE stakeholders in creating and implementing a Project Plan that aligns with the overarching KONE’s upstream supply chain project objectives. Procurement Project Manager will coordinate both KONE and supplier project resources to meet project milestones efficiently and monitor PQP metrics to assess the progress of various suppliers at each milestone, ensuring that suppliers meet process capabilities and quality targets for new products or changes.

Responsibilities and key activities:
- As KONE project manager you will coordinate the Delivery Chain and Procurement requirements, actions, and deliverables. Including leading Supplier ERP IT setup between KONE & Supplier team.
- Lead project cross-functional teams, including procurement, engineering, supplier quality, and operations, to drive upstream supply chain changes with suppliers.
- Identify and secure competencies and resources for project execution and set up/run a project team comprising KONE and supplier resources contributing to the execution of the project.
- Develop a project plan, drive suppliers' resources to develop a Project Quality Plan (PQP) for implementation at the supplier and drive alignment of these plans with the overall KONE’s objectives.
- Accountable for Identifying and managing risks at the project level and planning Mitigation, contingency planning, and potential recovery actions, working with other stakeholders
- Continuously monitor Project Quality Plan PQP metrics to evaluate the implementation status of various actions at each milestone and ensure that the suppliers achieve the required process capabilities and quality targets for new product/change introduction. Ensuring that assigned SQM will drive the KPPAP process.
- Closing the project with handover to supply chain operation
- Ensure that KONE swiftly integrates suppliers' processes during prototyping, piloting, and volume ramp-up.
- Ensure supplier manufacturing readiness of the project through launch readiness review during the pilot and ramp-up stage
- Organize, drive, and run progress reporting of designated projects at KONE leadership forums.
- Utilize IT tools such as MS Project, Office 365, and Jira to manage projects, improve processes, and enhance collaboration and reporting.
- At the minimum, a university degree is required at the University/University of Applied Sciences level
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within procurement, or a related field within the manufacturing or engineering industry
- Proven track record of managing cross-functional projects and improving supplier performance
- Fluency in English (Read, Write, and Spoken)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and can interface with many parties at all levels in an international and cross-cultural environment
- Good analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills accompanied by an excellent project management approach with strong stakeholder management capabilities
- Strong solution-oriented approach, capability to implement, and persistency in follow-up activities to ensure quality and sustainability
- Self-driven and self-motivated to learn and coach others to produce results
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in using IT tools for project management and process improvement
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 15% of the time)
- M.Sc. level University/University of Applied Sciences degree
- Fluency in any European language (e.g., Czech, German, Spanish, Italian)
- Certification within Lean Six Sigma
- PMP, Prince2, or Agile Certifications
