🚨 Cyber Threat Detection & Response Analyst – Dublin

📍 Location: Dublin (Remote)

💶 Pay Rate: €263 – €349 / day - 6 month contract

Role Overview

As a Cyber Threat Detection & Response Analyst, you’ll be at the frontline of defending against cyber risks. Your mission is to detect, analyse, and respond to threats impacting networks, systems, and data. This role combines continuous monitoring, threat intelligence research, and incident response to keep our environment secure.

Key Responsibilities

• 🕵️ Investigate & respond to security incidents (root cause, containment, eradication, recovery).
• ⚡ Develop & implement threat detection and response strategies.
• 🌐 Research emerging cyber threats to stay ahead of attackers.
• 🤝 Collaborate with IT & business teams to strengthen security posture.
• 📑 Document findings and produce detailed incident reports.
• Support threat hunting, detection rule development, and platform maintenance when needed.

Essential Knowledge, Skills & Experience

• 🔒 Hands-on with security tools (AV, IDS, email security, firewalls, content filtering).
• 🌐 Strong understanding of networks, OS, applications & data systems.
• 🚨 Incident response, network security & threat detection expertise.
• 🐍 Familiar with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation.
• 🎯 Knowledge of frameworks: MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain.
• 📊 Experience with SIEMs, CTI, vulnerability assessments.
• ⚙️ Knowledge of OT / Industrial Control Systems security.
• ✅ 5+ years in cybersecurity.

Desirable Extras

• 🎓 Cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, SANS, etc.).
• 🖥️ Digital forensics (endpoint/system compromise analysis).
• 🦠 Malware, phishing & intrusion analysis.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or Information Systems (or equivalent professional experience).

Soft Skills

• 🔍 Strong analytical & problem-solving mindset.
• ✍️ Clear communication & report-writing abilities.
• ⏱️ Calm under pressure, capable of real-time response.
