Role Overview:

We are seeking an Automation & Process Efficiency Analyst to support a strategic finance transformation initiative within a global investment banking environment. This role will contribute to the automation of accounting control processes within Finance teams, particularly focusing on reducing manual workloads and improving operational resilience.

You will work closely with accounting control teams, leveraging tools like Excel, Power BI, Python, and Alteryx/Knime/Dataiku, to design, implement, and industrialize automated procedures and prototypes.

Core Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate directly with accounting control teams to understand current manual processes and pain points.
  • Identify automation opportunities within Level 1 accounting controls and P&L reconciliation workflows.
  • Design, develop, and deliver automated desktop tools and prototypes (Excel, Power BI, Python, etc.).
  • Document business rules and ensure clear handover to Finance IT for industrialization.
  • Test and validate automated tools with users during live accounting closure cycles.
  • Provide training and coaching to finance users on advanced Excel, Power BI, and automation best practices.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer and process sustainability within the Finance team.


Technical Skills Required:


  • Advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, Power Query, data models).
  • Proficiency in at least one data preparation platform (e.g., Alteryx, Knime, Dataiku).
  • Programming/scripting experience in Python (C is a plus).
  • Knowledge of RPA tools such as UIPath or Blue Prism (desirable).
  • Strong understanding of finance processes, reconciliations, or financial control (desirable).
  • Familiarity with capital markets products (desirable).
