We provide the foundation for everything Hemnet builds. As a Platform team, we manage the AWS-based infrastructure and developer platform that supports millions of users – and the 70+ engineers who create for them.

Our goal? To empower product teams to experiment, ship, and scale with confidence. We do this through reliable CI/CD pipelines, test environments, observability tooling, and close collaboration. We share a passion for learning, efficiency, and helping our developers move from idea to production with trust and ease.

Hello from your colleague 👋🏽

Hi, I’m Cristian and have been at Hemnet since 2018 and work as a platform engineer myself. The best part of my role is that I like that we have a big influence in what we choose to do. I like the freedom we have to choose the tools we are working with. I really think we have the best tools for the job and I enjoy working with them. In addition it's nice seeing the majority of our ideas come to life. We are one of Sweden's most visited web sites so it's exciting to work with the infrastructure that enables this. One other fun thing is that we have a technical environment where we can make continuous changes and improvements. With that said, as the organisation has grown, so has our tech stack. It has become more demanding to build a platform where we can provide the best experience for the different type of developers and their corresponding stacks. As an example, the needs of Rails backend developer are quite different from a front-end Next.js developer or a mobile app developer. But a new team member means new perspectives, and I’m excited to see what a fresh pair of eyes can bring. Welcome to us!
