Junior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer

Position Overview:

Machina Cognita Technologies (MCT) is seeking a motivated, creative, intelligent individual to take on a high-impact role as a Junior Machine Learning Scientist/Engineer. This person will contribute to a growing array of developmental and fielded products focused on utilizing the latest machine learning technologies to solve real-world problems.

MCT is developing capabilities focused on enabling communication between human operators and autonomous systems in natural language, implementing collaborative autonomy solutions, developing real-time edge-device enabled digital assistants, geospatial predictive analytics, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research and development of cutting-edge machine learning technologies
• Product design, development, and rapid prototyping
• Software development for operational deployment in Python, Java, Javascript/Typescript, and/or C#
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports, milestone reviews, and product documentation.
• Contribute to business development through proposal writing and customer relationship development

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with software development, product development, and AI/ML algorithm development
• Expertise in at least one of the following languages: Python, Java, Javascript, Typescript, C++, or C#
• In-depth understanding of the fundamental mathematics behind machine learning algorithms
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to work across teams and disciplines

Preferred Qualifications:

• Less than 5 years of hands-on experience in ML/AI, product development, and/or leadership
• Master's or Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
• DoD Security Clearance (Secret or higher)
• Willingness to travel
• Familiarity with SBIR/STTR, BAAs, or other DoD R&D funding mechanisms.
• Served in leadership roles in the US military on active duty status
