We are a UK-based tech team seeking a dedicated UI/UX Designer to join us as a remote independent contractor. You’ll work closely with developers and product stakeholders to design intuitive, data-centric applications that balance usability, consistency, and clean design. This role requires someone who can operate at both the product discovery level (low-fi wireframes, user journeys) and the pixel-perfect delivery level (final UI in Figma, component libraries, spacing systems).

What You’ll Do
- Lead UI/UX design in Figma, from wireframes and prototypes to final design assets
- Work with the product team to create low-fidelity wireframes for rapid discovery and iteration
- Translate concepts into clean, logical, scalable UI/UX flows that developers can implement with confidence
- Build and maintain a Figma component library / design system aligned with React best practices
- Collaborate with developers to ensure designs are feasible, consistent, and well-structured
- Conduct design reviews and provide feedback to ensure quality and usability
- Pay attention to micro-interactions, spacing, typography, and accessibility
- Support continuous improvement of product usability and visual consistency

- 5+ years of professional UI/UX design experience (SaaS, dashboards, or complex apps preferred)
- Expert in Figma: components, auto-layout, variants, design tokens, prototyping
- Strong portfolio showcasing clean, modern UI/UX for data-heavy applications
- Ability to design component-based systems that map well to React or similar frameworks
- Experience producing both low-fi wireframes and high-fi production-ready designs
- Solid understanding of UX principles, user journeys, and accessibility best practices
- Comfortable collaborating with developers, understanding their workflows and constraints
- Detail-oriented — avoids sloppy design, enforces consistency in spacing, typography, and interactions
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to balance speed in discovery with precision in delivery
