Summary:

The OCI Cloud Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and governing cloud infrastructure solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to support Oracle SaaS ERP, PaaS extensions, and enterprise workloads. This role ensures that solutions are secure, scalable, high-performing, and aligned with enterprise architecture principles and Oracle best practices.

Key Responsibilities:


Architecture & Design

  • Define OCI cloud architecture blueprints for infrastructure supporting Oracle SaaS, PaaS, and third-party integrations.
  • Design network topology, compartment strategy, IAM policies, VCNs, subnets, load balancers, bastions, and disaster recovery setups.


Implementation & Delivery

  • Guide implementation teams in provisioning OCI services such as Compute, Block/Object Storage, ADW, OIC, Functions, and API Gateway.
  • Support SaaS-PaaS integration patterns, including connectivity to Oracle SaaS ERP via OIC, REST APIs, and VCN peering.


Security & Compliance

  • Apply OCI security best practices, including encryption, IAM, logging, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Ensure compliance with enterprise security frameworks, regulatory requirements, and Oracle's Cloud Controls Framework.


Automation & Optimization

  • Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform or OCI Resource Manager.
  • Continuously optimize performance, availability, and cost of cloud resources.


Governance & Documentation

  • Produce architecture artifacts including HLDs, LLDs, runbooks, and operational models.
  • Support governance reviews, tagging policies, and chargeback frameworks.


Collaboration & Support

  • Work closely with application, data, and integration architects.
  • Serve as an escalation point for cloud infrastructure issues across development, testing, and production environments


Requirements

  • 8-12 years of IT infrastructure or cloud experience, including at least 3 years on OCI.
  • Deep expertise in OCI networking, compute, storage, identity, and monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of Oracle SaaS integration patterns, PaaS deployment architecture, and cloud-native services.
  • Proficiency with Terraform, OCI CLI, scripting (Shell/Python), and DevOps toolchains.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Oracle OCI Architect Professional or Associate certification.
  • Experience with hybrid connectivity (FastConnect, VPN), ADW, OIC, Functions, and container services.
  • Familiarity with cloud cost management, multi-region DR planning, and automated provisioning pipelines.
  • Awareness of security standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or GDPR.
  • Fluency in Dutch and/or French is a plus.
  • Willingness to work 2-3 days onsite in Brussels.
