UX/UI Specialist

We are looking for a talented UX/UI Specialist for a major client in The Hague, Netherlands.

Tasks to be performed:

• User Experience Design: UX research with potential users of innovative new tools; specification mapping; stakeholder analysis (personas, empathy maps); UX prototyping with Figma, Adobe XD, Balsamiq; UX testing & usability studies with digital design applications (VR, tangible interactions).
• Event/Workshop Planning & Moderation: Design Thinking workshops, speculative design sessions, and security/strategic design workshops with senior or executive management.
• Innovative Communication: Science & technology communication, using video and infographics.
• Co-creation Methodologies: Ideating innovative approaches to develop solutions.
• User-Centred Approaches: Applying them across all design tasks.

Requirements:

Language:

• English (C1 or higher)

Education:

• University degree of at least 4 years plus at least 6 years of relevant professional experience OR
• University degree of at least 3 years plus at least 7 years of relevant professional experience

Professional Experience:

Mandatory:

• 3+ years in the design sector (design methodologies, Design Systems, usability heuristics, accessibility guidelines)
• Participation in 3+ projects involving UX design of digital applications (desktop or mobile)
• Participation in 3+ projects involving physical/digital applications (e.g., ARDUINO)
• 1+ year working on online community platforms, CMS, or collaboration tools
• 1+ year in scoping, preparing, conducting, and following up on strategic/security design workshops with executive management
• 1+ year of design experience in a public authority (preferably law enforcement or crime-prevention organisations)

Desirable:

• Participation in at least 1 project involving event planning for science or technology communication

• General design methodologies, Design Systems, usability heuristics, accessibility guidelines
• User-centric design approaches
• Conceptual frameworks (e.g., Cynefin Framework for decision making, or similar)

Desirable:

• Sustainable design
• Agile methodology & tools (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
• Emerging technologies, speculative design approaches, technology foresight
• Participatory Design (Inclusive Design, Co-Creation)
