.Net Engineer (contract)

We are seeking a .Net Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications leveraging .NET, ASP.NET Core, SQL Server, and modern API frameworks. This role requires deep expertise in full-stack software development practices, agile methodologies, and integration across multiple databases and distributed systems. You will be responsible for delivering robust, scalable, and secure solutions, ensuring seamless collaboration between onshore and offshore teams, and supporting critical production systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain applications using .NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, and C#.
• Build, optimize, and integrate APIs with OCP and other services.
• Manage SQL Server and DB2 database connections, queries, and performance tuning.
• Apply software engineering best practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, version control, CI/CD pipelines, and testing.
• Work with Angular or React for front-end integrations with backend services.
• Pair with other developers to ensure knowledge sharing, code quality, and team alignment.
• Collaborate with business teams to define requirements, prepare UAT test cases, and execute BDD-driven testing.
• Use Jenkins and DevOps practices to support continuous integration and deployment pipelines.
• Participate in Agile Scrum ceremonies and actively refine backlog items with product owners.
• Assess the impact of new requirements, provide estimates, and share detailed requirement analysis with offshore teams.
• Design and present high-level solution designs to clients and stakeholders.
• Coordinate walkthroughs with maintenance teams, manage deployments to test and production environments, and provide warranty support post-deployment.
• Investigate emergency issues and production incidents, provide timely resolutions, and update business and IT stakeholders.
• Ensure 100% functional test coverage based on requirements, coordinating effectively with offshore teams.
  
  

Technical Profile

• 8+ years of experience with .NET, ASP.NET Core, MVC, C#, OCP, SQL Server, and API development.
• Strong understanding of DB2 connections via JDBC template and experience working with multiple databases.
• Proficiency in Git version control, branching/merging strategies, and code release processes.
• Knowledge of Angular or React and web-based application architecture.
• Experience with Jenkins, DevOps pipelines, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with BDD and shift-left testing practices.
• Nice to have: Kafka, asynchronous calls, JMS Transactions, IMS (J2C) transactions, Redis cache, application caching, and timeout handling.

The pay range that the employer in good faith reasonably expects to pay for this position is $34.88/hour - $54.50/hour. Our benefits include medical, dental, vision and retirement benefits.
