Director of Game Development

We are seeking a visionary Director of Game Development to join EPAM's innovative Gaming Solutions team in LatAm.

This role focuses on expanding our game development expertise, delivering world-class solutions to global gaming studios, and advancing co-development, porting, tools engineering, and engine customization.

Responsibilities

• Scale EPAM's game development capabilities across co-development, porting, tools creation, and technical solutions for AAA gaming
• Build and lead a high-caliber team of developers, promoting innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence within LatAm and globally
• Define technical strategies by providing expertise in architecture, systems design, optimization, and performance tuning for key gaming projects
• Partner with gaming studios to understand their needs, offer tailored solutions, and identify growth areas
• Ensure consistent integration and collaboration between LatAm teams and EPAM’s global network to align delivery and technology standards
• Address complex technical challenges involving game engines, rendering pipelines, and gameplay systems to deliver impactful results
• Advocate for emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance EPAM’s game development portfolio
• Expand business opportunities and foster cross-border partnerships within the gaming industry

Requirements

• Over 12 years of expertise in game development with proven leadership in AAA projects or technical direction
• Advanced proficiency in C++, Unreal Engine, Unity, and multi-platform development combined with skills in gameplay systems design, rendering, and optimization
• Demonstrated ability to manage distributed teams and ensure smooth cross-region collaboration
• Leadership skills to inspire and mentor teams while achieving challenging objectives
• Strong communication capabilities with a history of building trust-based relationships with gaming studios
• A proven track record of implementing scalable and innovative solutions in game development
• Passion for gaming technologies, systems, and improvements in development workflows

Nice to have

• Background in AR/VR/MR or understanding of emerging gaming technologies
• Projects showcasing contributions to open-source initiatives or personal endeavors, highlighting innovation
• Proficiency in English (mandatory) and Spanish or Portuguese (preferred)
