About the Project

Join a dynamic team working on one of Germany’s most widely used online platforms for secondhand goods. With millions of monthly users and a vast range of categories—from electronics to real estate—the platform plays a key role in promoting sustainable consumer behavior through reuse and resale.

The Core User Experience Team is focused on enhancing the shopping journey by tailoring it to specific product categories. We’re looking for a seasoned Android developer who can take ownership of category-specific solutions and help shape the future of mobile classifieds.

Your Role

As a Senior Android Developer, you’ll be instrumental in evolving the Android application and SDKs. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle—from architecture and prototyping to deployment—while collaborating closely with product managers and UX designers. Your contributions will directly impact the user experience and platform performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain high-quality Android features and SDKs.
• Drive architectural decisions and ensure scalable, maintainable code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver category-specific solutions.
• Improve accessibility and optimize performance across the app.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and testing strategies.

Must-Have Skills

• Extensive experience in Android development with a focus on clean, pragmatic code.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Hands-on experience with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Dagger Hilt, Koin).
• Solid understanding of reactive programming (e.g., RxJava, Kotlin Flow).
• Expertise in Android architectural patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture).
• Experience with test-driven development (JUnit, Robolectric, Espresso).
• Familiarity with CI/CD for mobile applications.
• Excellent communication skills in English.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience in multicultural, cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of Jetpack Compose for UI development.
• Understanding of mobile performance and battery optimization.
• Familiarity with analytics and crash reporting tools (e.g., Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics).
• Background in e-commerce, classifieds, or large-scale consumer apps.
• Experience with A/B testing frameworks.
