Senior Project Manager – Infrastructure Project

Job Description:

Our client requires an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee and deliver large-scale IT outsourcing project. The role will involve working directly and managing Vendor Partners. Also the role will ensuring the successful handover of services to external partners. This is a contract role based in Dublin with hybrid working options.

Job Responsibilities

• Lead complex infrastructure outsourcing initiatives from planning through to execution and service handover.
• Define and manage the full project lifecycle, ensuring delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
• Engage with key internal stakeholders and external service providers to manage contractual, operational, and technical aspects of the outsourcing arrangement.
• Coordinate resource planning, risk management, and change control throughout the programme.
• Establish governance frameworks to monitor performance, service levels, and compliance during transition.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and service continuity during migration to third-party providers.
• Drive project reporting, steering committee updates, and stakeholder communication.
• Manage dependencies between technology, operations, and vendor teams.

Experience Required

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in project management with at least 5 years in large infrastructure outsourcing projects.
• Extensive experience delivering complex IT managed service projects and IT business Readiness.
• Strong commercial and vendor management skills with proven experience negotiating with third-party service providers.
• Deep understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments .

Desirable Skills

• Familiarity with ITIL-based service transition and service management models.
• Experience in highly regulated or large-scale multinational environments.
• Knowledge of managed Vendors and pricing is highly favourable.
• Negotiating SLA/ OLA with managed vendors.
• Exposure to legal, compliance, and risk considerations related to outsourcing.

Educational Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
• Project management certifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2) are highly advantageous.
