Data Analyst

We are supporting our client in strengthening their data analytics capabilities and are currently exploring collaboration with a Data Analytics Specialist. This role will be instrumental in enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of the client's audit lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal audit teams to understand data needs and translate them into analytical solutions.
• Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources using Alteryx and other tools.
• Write and optimise SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data; Snowflake experience is a plus.
• Build and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
• Conduct data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure data quality and consistency.
• Apply data science techniques to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks.
• Document data processes and ensure compliance with internal audit standards and data governance policies.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by automating repetitive tasks and enhancing data workflows.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in data analytics, preferably within internal audit, risk, or compliance functions.
• Proficiency in SQL; familiarity with Snowflake is a plus.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools, especially Alteryx.
• Strong skills in Power BI for data visualisation and reporting.
• Solid understanding of data transformation, data gathering, and data quality principles.
• Exposure to data science concepts and techniques (e.g. clustering, regression, anomaly detection).
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics or Applied Mathematics or equivalent experience
• 3-5 years experience in Data Analysis experience
• Proficient in SQL
