Systems & World Designer

Join our New Games Studio at King and help build our next big title!

If you're passionate about casual games and thrive on crafting engaging content, then this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We’re looking for a highly motivated Systems & World Designer to join a tight knit team working on an ambitious new mobile game. You’ll collaborate closely in the design and implementation of the game’s meta systems, features, and content.

Your Role Within the Kingdom

• Work with a key team to create a new casual mobile game at King
• Collaborate with the Creative Director and Design Leads to define and develop the game's meta, features, and content.
• Develop the 3D world of our game, its characters and content, in collaboration with a crossfunctional team.
• Uphold high standards of design quality while balancing technical and performance constraints.
• Document features and systems, communicate progress, and incorporate feedback throughout development
• Help define and champion best practices in game design across the project.
• Support production by breaking down tasks and contributing to scheduling.
• Track and communicate key design risks to the production team.
• Stay current with industry design techniques, workflows, and emerging technologies and games.
• Seek and provide feedback with the wider design discipline.
• Work collaboratively with humility and openness and a strong willingness to learn from your peers.
  
  

Skills To Create Thrills

• Comfortable with Unity, scripting and node graphs (Light technical Design)
• Understanding of storytelling, background in film, machinima or casual mobile narrative is a big bonus.
• Experience fast grey boxing scenes and building design pre-visualizations or scripted story sequences.
• Experience in game and systems design, particularly in the mobile space.
• Ability to self-manage and stay motivated in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of free to play economies and meta game mechanics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  
  

Game Experience

We’re looking for someone with a background in creating video games. Working in mobile game development is uniquely challenging, balancing creativity with tight technical constraints, and we want someone who embraces that challenge with energy and passion.
