Lead AI Engineer

Cpl have an exciting opportunity for a Lead AI Engineer to shape the future of intelligent systems. This role sits at the intersection of AI research and large-scale engineering, focusing on the development of agentic AI platforms. You’ll be driving technical vision, mentoring talent, and building scalable systems that push the boundaries of what’s possible with applied AI.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and delivery of enterprise-scale AI agent platforms
• Build and optimise multi-agent orchestration systems with complex workflows
• Develop AI guardrails, safety frameworks, and responsible AI mechanisms
• Establish and enforce technical best practices for AI development
• Implement advanced prompt engineering and optimisation strategies
• Architect fault-tolerant, distributed AI systems with high availability
• Drive performance optimisation, caching strategies, and system reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful AI solutions
  
  

Experience:

• 8+ years in software engineering, with recent focus on AI/ML systems
• Expertise in Python and leading agent frameworks (e.g. LangChain, AutoGPT, Crew.ai, NeMo)
• Strong knowledge of AI safety, guardrails, and responsible AI practices
• Advanced experience in prompt engineering, in-context learning, and vector search optimisation
• Skilled in distributed systems, containerisation, and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proven leadership in guiding technical teams and delivering complex AI projects
• Degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, or related discipline
