AI Engineer

We are building the next generation of conversational AI agents to automate workflows for businesses. Our platform is an AI-native help desk that allows human agents to work alongside AI, increasing automation over time. Our AI agents handle both reactive and proactive automation across various channels like calls, SMS, and email, while maintaining a single, coherent conversation thread. We are a small, fast-moving team with a mission to maximize conversational automation for high-touch businesses.

We're looking for a motivated AI Engineer who thrives in fast-moving startup environments, takes ownership, and wants to build systems that scale. This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious early-stage team and play a pivotal role in shaping the AI engine at the heart of the platform.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience building and shipping AI systems at scale (LLM-based techniques a plus)
• Track record of achievement and initiative - someone who sees projects through to completion
• Comfort working in high-growth, early-stage startup environments
• On-site in San Francisco, 5 days/week
  
  

What you'll be doing:

• End-to-End AI Development: Research and prototype advanced agentic AI, then turn prototypes into robust production services
• Monitoring & Analytics: Build metrics, dashboards, and alerting to track AI performance and detect issues early
• Testing & Validation: Develop test frameworks (unit, integration) and validation datasets for continuous evaluation
• Collaborative Architecture: Partner with backend engineers to integrate AI modules into the broader platform
• Scaling: Ensure the AI infrastructure can handle growing data volumes and real-time interactions with minimal latency
  
  

Benefits

• Salary: $150k - $250k
• Equity: 0.20% - 1.20%
