Java Team Lead

Project Description:

The Reference Data Technology team is developing a strategic data quality platform and is seeking an Intermediate Developer to join a fast-paced environment. The role involves tuning and optimizing Oracle databases to enhance the efficiency and performance of a web-based application, as well as contributing to the development of the Java web application. The developer will collaborate with other teams and senior business analysts to gather requirements and implement them into the application.

The project is being rewritten using the AngularJS framework.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a team of 5+ developers.
• Perform both front-end and back-end development.
• Collaborate effectively within a global team across multiple time zones.
• Communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, and provide suggestions or alternative solutions to ensure efficient and optimized implementations.

Mandatory Skills:

• 3+ years of team lead experience.
• Strong Core Java skills.
• Database technologies: Basic SQL knowledge, JDBC connections, Hibernate.
• Spring Framework.
• Build tools (e.g., Maven).
• Version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Code review / peer review experience.
• Continuous integration systems (e.g., TeamCity).
• Knowledge of design and architectural patterns.
• Front-end / JavaScript technologies (Angular preferred).
• Strong communication and writing skills.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with other UI frameworks (e.g., jQuery).
• Java performance tuning.
• Advanced Oracle and PL/SQL performance tuning.
• Linux / Unix background.
• Experience in mentoring and guiding small teams/modules.

Languages:

• English: B2 (Upper-Intermediate)
